I am the youth leader at a church in Oskaloosa, Iowa. We are looking for a place for our youth to volunteer in a soup kitchen. I work at a truck stop – There are times that a trucker is unable to drop his entire load at the designated grocery store or restaurant. He brings this food back to the truck stop, looking for some place that could use it. There are cases of Grands Biscuits, packaged salad, frozen french fries…etc. It feels wrong to throw all this away when there are so many hungry people in the world. I am sure this goes on at other truck stops,too. Is there someone we can contact – who knows where this food can do the most good?
