    Looking for food and apartment items. My husband and I just finally found an apartment. But we need a lot of stuff, queen mattress and box spring, Food blankets, etc.

    Read the one review on line and it is so misleading! The service center helps take care of over 500 families in Avon Park that are in need. The money and food isn't endless because it is donated by people that want to give back to the community. That person that wrote the review has probably never given from the heart to people in need or worked at a center. The people that are working (giving their time freely) can only follow the guide lines that have been set up. When they run out of food and money it breaks their hearts to have to say no. Yes, there are people that try to cheat the system, but most are so in need.

    took my son to you last month he received food needed help with his rent as he has been laid off from his job..after waiting in line for over an hour was turned away because ran out of money. went back today and was told he was not due for food till next friday went again to get help with his rent and again was turned away because they said he has to come every month for food in order to get assistance. He was working up thru May and did not need assistance. I dont get it ...then as i am waiting I see people driving expensive new cars and trucks leaving there with checks in hand. Now my son faces living in the street because he does not take advantage of your system be ashamed
