I too witnessed this horrendous traffic problem throughout my neighbor for miles this morning. People were coming from the city and other areas outside of Arbutus, Halethorpe, Relay and Lansdowne while driving their Lexus, Escalades, and other high dollar vehicles to receive free food in Halethorpe. It is very disappointing to see first hand that my tax dollars were supporting those individuals taking advantage of the system and taking food away from those that truly need it, especially since there are many food banks in the city. I am begging our public officials to please crack down on this abuse!
Dear food bank , first of all I would like to thank everyone who is involved in making it possible for myself and many other families in MD. Put food on the table everyday. It means more then you can ever know! I would however like to express my overwhelming feeling of dissapiontment that happen this morning. Let me explain, I went the food bank located at 2200 Halethorpe Farm Road. This morning. I arrived at 745 am this morning . I then sat in the car in the line from 7.45am till 9.30 am. Gradually moving with the line, however when I reached the Main Street (Washington Blvd.) I was told to make a left and once again go all the way to the back of the line by the police officer who was directing traffic. Now I am not a person who likes to co mplain about anything and I am always willing to wait my turn however, I found this situation very unfair. I had been waiting inline since 7.45am only to be told to go to the end of the line . Now this line was atleast 5miles back. So at this point in time I knew there was no way that I would make to get to the front of the line to get food. I have not worked sinceJan,2014. Due to my health and I am currently waiting for disability hearing so me being able to get some food would have been a true blessing. So I was very dissapiontment because I know I am going to be hungry. I have no income at all. I would also like to say thank you so much to all food bank helpers and to the people who donates. It helps more then you know!
