I came into the food pantry today at 1:25 pm I was referred to this location by 211 To get emergency help for my nine year old daughter an myself. We are in need of food. I have applied for state benefits and assistance, completed my interview, sent in all the requested documents an waiting to be approved. But we really needed help with things until we receive the snap benefits. I was told I could not receive help, I had proof of residency, a valid id from the state we moved here from and the person would not even listen, they embarrassed me, treated me poorly. I am sad an just let down with the way I was treated. I also had to apply for a replacement social security card, to get my Texas Dr license. Because we moved in a hurry to be safe an avoid violence. I am just overwhelmed with the horrible treatment I just went through when I was at Susies closet.
I'm the manager of Susie's Closet and I highly recommend going to the closet for friendly service from the workers wanting to help you with your needs. We have everything from food to clothing and shoes for the whole family. We also have household goods such as linens pots and pans , dishes, glassware, suitcases, purses and home decor. We sometimes have small appliances upon request. You must present a Texas ID in order to receive our services.
