In the Fall of 2003, St John's Christian Food Pantry opened its' doors at 209 S. Pearl St. in New London. St. John's Community Thrift Store maintains rent and utilities for the Food Pantry as well as providing all the funds needed to purchase food. Various agencies and businesses have also offered generous donations of money and food to continue the work of the Pantry. The Pantry serves about 50 families per week. It is managed by a team of faithful people from St. John's Church. Their efforts demonstrate not only a care for people in need of food but also portray the spiritual nourishment that flows from a relationship with God.
